Mind Billiards and F.A.T. Billiard Balls
|
Imagine the healthy mind as a racked set of billiard balls marked with the letters F (feelings), A (actions) and T (thoughts) instead of numbers. In the game of Mind Billiards the winner is usually the one with the most F.A.T. Billiard balls racked at the end of the day. Imagine the unhealthy mind as being unracked from the beginning and flying apart all too easily when those Cueballs of Life smack them in just the right place. Wham! F.A.T. balls scatter and you feel like you are losing your mind. You're also losing at Mind Billiards. Some F.A.T. balls fly into pockets and you ARE losing part of your mind. Not surprisingly, people usually cope best when those F.A.T. balls stay racked as much as possible when the Cueballs of Life strike. Medications may help keep those F.A.T. balls racked. These include
atypical antipsychotics (Risperdal, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Clozaril and Geodon) or
typical antipsychotics (Haldol, Stellazine, Prolixen, Navane, etc).
